+ Near midnight. hrs spent going here & here & there & here. bars, baby shower (honestly, the baby shower was not held at the bar...), japanese restaurants, italian pastry shops, local coffee shops, st. corners ( to say goodbye at), shortcuts, long way around, walk slower when it's warmer (saturday, mmmm), extra layers when wind is unbearable (sunday,grrr). some things out of place ( apt34 & a late spring/early summer move?). some things f i t like second skin. (sunday night in with ben. nyx spread out on the table. orange glow from baby night light (cute pup.mmm. plugged in to test, hard to turn off or to think of giving away). he reads arts & leisure. i read book review. later, dinner at thai restaurant. i am irked by woman who plays role of horrific hostess. we are not allowed to sit in cozy window booths as we are not a party of 4. nobody else is dining in establishment. think of leaving but we have already convinced ourselves of death by starvation if we.do.not.eat.most.soonly. (and apt34 kitchen looks as though it has been stocked only with hangover relief in mind.) h m p h. but, coconut soup and shrimp and curry made up for tiny table near wall. take ben down favorite short cut. alley that runs along the backside of amanouz & crepe place. puddles look greasy. view of brick and windows. green plastic garbage bins line alley's exit onto busy side st. use h i g h li ghter: like image of us two: in bed with index magazine and proust. old lamp from childhood home. girl limbs casually tossed over boy limbs. warm skin. blue sheets. head on boy's chest. make lazy bedtime conversation that includes plans for early morning - before work breakfast. (insert lots of cursive M mmmmm s.) must throw self in bed as pace is non-stop until wednesday night. fold note into triangle and pass down row: i like your girl, dan. !
